i just bought a 2001.5 A4 1.8T quattro. I am getting between 300-350 mile per tank all city driving and according to my onboard comp it is roughly 22 mpg. when I drive to san diego i get 400+ depending how I drive once I arrive in SD.

I average about 27-28 mpg... mostly highway driving, and can get about 370-410 miles per tank... depending on how I drive.

I think the B6's get slightly better mileage due to the variable valve timing. 2001 B5's would also benefit from this.

What's 250miles on the first half equal out to? Well, that's my best...then I had to go up and over the Grapevine, then my mpg went to ****. But I usually only get like 75miles to a quarter if I stretch it.

I get 23 on 89 octane.
Change your spark plugs. Check the air pressure in the tires.
Tire diameter will affect the calculation.
