I have a 2001 audi a4 1.8t, and i have seen pics online of the inerior and on the dash the LED display shows 14.4 mpg (wich is pretty bad). anyways i can only get mine to say like 420Mi. til empty, wich is kool but it would be better if i didnt have to cnvert the 420 and could just see the MPG, anyone know how to do this. Unfortunatley i bought this car used and it did not come with a manual. thanks.

 

The button on the end of the windshield wiper lever.

 

button on the end of the washer stalk can scroll through the different things. button under the stalk turns it off.

 

^ just what they said... except from what ive seen most of the time, the mpg will go up and down constantly so its not really accurate to read...

 

^yea, it constantly changes depending on how youre driving...at least mine does

 

that means you are looking at the instantanious mpg

scroll through for one that says the mpg, with a little "theta" looking symbol. its like a O with a like through the middle. it means average. reset it by holding the button on the bottom of the lever until if turns to zero

to turn this all off, just tap the button. likewise to turn it back on.

 

Nice thanks for that little trick. Its funny cause i find new buttons every time i drive, still cant figure out how to do the headlight washers, and i just figured out how to dimm the interior lights.

the headlight washers: if you spray your window while your headlights are on, vwola! presto clean lights

 

thats intense, i definatley had no idea thats how it worked. i just know one day i went out to my car and randomly one of them was popping up. it really suprised me at first cause i didnt even know they existed. i thought it was some wierd sensor or something, some alien device. Now im somewhat more informed.
