My A4
Ok so I posted a few days ago in the "Welcome" forum; now I'll post here because I have a few actual questions regarding my A4. About it, it's a 2004 B6 (B6 right?) 1.8T quattro tip ebony leather with the cold weather package. The only thing wrong with it (as you can see in the pics) is that it's missing the cover for the towing eyehole. I went to the Audi dealer and the piece itself comes primered for $35, I can either get it painted by a shop or for just ten bucks get a can of the paint and clear coat and do it myself. I think I'll just do that. Where would I take it to get the windows tinted? Just like Elite or some other well known tinting place? And I've seen that tinting comes in percentages...could someone go into better detail on that for me? How dark before cops frown on it? Also, is it safe to order the rear lip spoiler from ebay? Oh and this morning I put on new wiper blades and replaced a brake light woo hoo! The start of lots to come lol

welcome! great looking car!
As far as where to take your car to get it tinted, find a somewhat median between price and quality. The shop i took it to charged me $275 to tint my side and rear windows at 20%. I had them get the actual tint from 3M because as far as i know its the best quality out there... imo.
35% on your sides and rear will look good and you wont have a problem seeing out them at night. Where as its still legal in most all states as far as i know.
20% on your sides and rear will look better but (in South Dakota) its illegal, but they never check or care to waste there time to say anything about it. When its really dark and rainy or snowy out its just a little harder to see out.
15% and lower is way to dark... imo. You normally have a hard time seeing out the windows at night and the cops frown apon it, even more so if they pull you over and you act suspicious at all.
For the spoiler im pretty sure thats where most people on the forum order if from.

where do you live? what state? every state has different % of window tint that is legal. in minnesota i think it is 50% which is like haveing nothing at all. i have 20% on my ford SHO and have been pulled over once for that. i would just take it to any shop that you have seen the tint on a car so you know that it will look good. they would also know what the laws state about the tint.
Yeah I'll do 20 then because I want pretty dark. And I live near Denver in Colorado. Oh and it's snowing outside right now suckers! haha just a little though. Tomorrow night a lady from my company is having a get together for the Sunday night football game, but her house is about 2 hours west of Denver up in the mountains. She said that it snowed really hard up there and her driveway is really steep and pretty long so she asked us to give her our numbers so that they can shuttle us up to their house from the bottom (her husband has this like six wheel swiss army thing), but I'll just show up in my new car and she'll say "oh you didn't call?!" "didn't need to..." hahaha Well I'll see how it does...I have brand spanking new all seasons on it so I'm pretty sure I'll do alright
