I was just waiting in my car with the engine on and foot to the brake as usual (my car is manual btw), then all of a sudden i get this shuddering feeling through the brake pedal!?! As if the brake pedal was moving in and out in quick succession.. like a vibration. This happened for about 2 seconds on a few occasions now. Luckily enough its only been when i'm standstill!

IS it a problem with my ecu or abs or soemthing? ANyone had this problem before?

 

I'm pretty sure its the ABS, at a standstill there shouldn't be any shuddering. That should only happen at moderate to high speeds or when you try to floor the pedal. Get it on a vagcom to find out whats going on.

 

Its your ABS man, they will all do that if you press hard enough its normal

 

Did you ABS light come on? A common failure is the ABS controller. $750 for the repair.

Use a vag-com to check fault codes in the ABS controller module.

 

I just took it into service last week and no codes came up. I think your right about me pushing hard on the brakes to cause the shudder. thanks!
