Autozone doesnt use a vag-com... just OBD II. The dealer is sketchy as hell if they just clear the codes and send you on your way... there's a REASON your light is on.

and it's not awful to drive the car with the CEL on... 99% of the time its emissions. Polluting is bad though

 

what exactly does it mean if autozone doesnt use vagcom, just obdII, they found my problem....

 

go to somewhere and have them check out ur car, dealer or some private place. MAYBE check ur air filter.....

 

we have a fully audi certified tech working at our shop who is known in chicago as one of the best.

we don't charge anything for a diagnostic test and vag-com.

we do all service and maintenance that any dealer does... usually about 30-60% cheaper too.

 

An OBDII Scanner will be able to check the code for you, but it can't clear it unless you fix the problem and reset the ECU, as far as I know.

I had a code, went to Autozone. The dude didn't even know how to use the thing. He handed it to me, I pulled the code. It was for the MAF. I took it off, cleaned it. No more code, but I do have that stupid service code, 1n2. I'll drop by the Audi dealer a little later today probably to clear it.
