While apart, I’ve also installed APR snub and Forge DV.

Swift – though I have not owned an Audi in the past 2 years, this is #13 since 1990, and my favorite so far (even over 91 Coupe Quattro I loved dearly)

Livin – yep, that name and many others, I was really upset with the quality work of whoever butchered that timing belt job!

Talis - engine block – yep, everything was perfectly intact, machine shop who did the head work were very happy with it, said no issues at all. Day 2, still all good!

And finally now, all back to being a car

She's happy, I'm happy, very happy = day 3, cold ac, very comfortable, stable, quet and responsive. [sm=loveeyes.gif]

Cost of labor - we did most of the work here in the garage (except for the head work), machine shop charge for everything (labor wise) was $350, total cost of parts if I remember correctly about $1100 or just under (including all 20 valves) - I can provide a full "suggested" list of everything needed for such rebuild if anyone would like. After a week of online research for this project, I did get all the parts from 3 different sources, as the prices varied dramatically! For example, complete head gasket kit ranged from $80 to $189, valves from $18.99 to $70.99, timing chain tensioner from $129 to $249 (all same brands), so you get the idea.

It's a drip pan so leaking oil won't stain the concrete.
