yeah woode it is much easier for us since we dont have that turbo in there taking up space. Once you remove the open air filter (along with MAF housing and tubing to the Throttle Body) there is lots of work to get a peice of cardboard in there and then cut accordingly to make a hole for the intake tubing to go through as well as a peice missing for the air inlet. If its not too cold out I'll do the write up tonight...

it will make a difference. becuase if its cold coming in then it will be colder coming out then if its already hot going in. if that makes sense
No, it really wont make a difference. The air coming out will be just about the same temp (withen a couple *) that after the ic, it will be the same temp going into the intake. If your statement was true, everybody and their mom would be running a cai and seeing gains. Since thats not the case, heatsheilds dont make a differnce either.

Cincy, no one's gonna believe either of us saying that - I've said it a few times and you've said it a lot more. Might as well just save our breath and let everyone do what they want. Two words - placebo effect.

I cant even see that happening. The only thing needed is to move the filter from just above the manifold so you dont melt the filter. After that, your all good.

Hey cincy and upstate, you know this thread is already a year old, just brought back to life by a noob who wanted to comment on the size of the pics. LOL.

That's OK - it's another person who can be taught that the paltry few degrees of intake temp reduction the head shield gives, will be consumed anyhow once the air is heated by the turbo. That's potentially one more person that won't make the mistake of thinking it's going to be a terrifically productive mod.
