Ok, so I am looking at upgrading my 2000 Audi A4 1.8T. This will be my first upgrade and budget is somewhat tight. However I am willing to pay for something that is going to be worth the money. For a small initial upgrade, what do you guys think is the best thing to start with?? I hear all over the place that a chipped ECU, such as an APR chip is a good idea. Is there a better way to go for around the same cost?? And with an upgraded chip will I need to upgrade injectors, turbo, manifold?? Keep in mind that I will continue to upgrade, however I want to do it gradually as my finances permit. I guess just gimme some suggestions. Thanks in advance!

The question you need to ask is where you want to be not where do I start. once you know where you want to end up then you can start doing supporting mods and eventually reach your goal. Chip go with GIAC it will give you an upgrade route to the K04 turbo if you ever want to - APR doesn't have K04 software for the B5

Ok I will look into that chip. What kind of gains can I expect with just the chip upgrade, and then with the K04 turbo. Does the GIAC chip support BT turbos or anything else??
