first of all you need to say what year and model your car is

 

its a 2001 a4 it has the stock halogen lights

 

alright, i got the same year and just installed mine the other day. First, what kit did you get for your car? I bought the H7 kit which you need to get for our year car (in the pic it looks the same). In the first picture you dont need all that ****. The second and third pic is the only stuff you need!!! You DO NOT need to run wires to the battery or have a ground cause it is already there for you. First, the plastic covers on the back of the headlights need to be drilled. I took a 25mm bit and cut a circle in the middle of each plate (you may need to trim alittle more for the black plugs to fit through). As you can probably tell, the black rubber piece takes the place of the drilled hole you just cut. NOW, see the black and red wires that seem to connect to nothing....those connect to the plug that the old bulbs of the headlight were connected to (make sure red goes with red)!!! This simplifys everything since all the wires are already ran through the headlight. The rest is straight forward since you plug in the other three wires. Have fun putting the headlights in...thats the biggest pain in the ***, seriously!!!!!! I recommend you take out the air box or it is almost impossible to put the new bulb in there, let alone alot more space to work with. After all of this the lights should turn on immeadiatley! Simply plug and turn on! Those instal directions they give you are worthless, i dont no why they bother sending it. Email me if you got any more questions. bigboy9811@earthlink.net good luck
