my new HIDs
I'm going projector low beam - either one piece or the 2 piece projector/reflector combos. not a fan of the dual projector look on the B5 - it just doesn't look right in my eyes.

Yep, huge improvement. I was really surprised when I got my car (it didn't have HIDs as you know) and for all the development put into the car, and how great the car is, I could not believe it came with headlights whose beam pattern is as sh*tty as it is. HIDs fix that and then some.

HIDs looks great man!
I have been looking for some pics on this for a minute now...Is the compartment shown in the pic with the ballast under the plastic that covers the engine on the driver side? I have a 2001 audi 2.8 a4. When you say you drilled a whole, are you talking about the back of the light housing that the bulbs plug into? is there a ballast for both passenger and driver side lights or a single ballast for both headlights? Could one ballast run both headlights, and fogs? what is the name of the company that makes the conversion kits.
thanks
thanks
The hole has to be drilled in the back of each headlight "cap" (the part you remove to get at the bulbs), so the wiring can be run through and into the housing. As for ballasts - one bulb per ballast. The high-voltage cabling is built into the ballast and runs to the xenon bulb. There's no modifying it to try and run multiple bulbs - you need full ballast voltage to illuminate one bulb. If you want to have xenon lamps for more than your lowbeams, order more than one kit (being sure to specify the proper bulb for each application). You can get the kits at http://www.vvme.com for a good price (under $100 each including shipping).
