my oil light issues
ok, well i started getting an oil pressure light 3 days after i bought my a4, and we took it to the dealership to get looked at, they said it was ok to drive on since the light went immediately off. anyways, we finally got it to a mechanic to get it looked at this weekend, and they found that there was no pressure problem when they drove the car w/ a mechanical pressure guage in place of the sensor...
so we decided the sensor needed to be replaced.
while the mechanic was in there, he noticed my dip stip extension tube was broke, so he replaced that... and he also noticed the oil (that the dealer supposedly changed before we signed on the car, was broken down.
so we also replaced the tube extention, and changed the oil w/ a synthetic.
engine runs smooth, no warning lights... and to boot, we didnt get charged out the *** by the dealership... since we went elsewhere.
so the parts were around $40, we got the synthetic oil/filter change, got the cars inspection renewed, and the total was around 250...
glad its resolved. [sm=closed.gif]

ya know, i hate sharing a car with someone.
i just get this problem fixed, and i was riding to our storage shed w/ my sister (she needed to take the car elsewhere afterwards, so she drove.) and going up a hill she has it in first gear, almost stalls out, but pushes the clutch in enough that when she hits the gas the engine revs up to ALMOST 7K RPMS!!!!! and has the clutch engaged enough to probably take 20k miles off its life. i smell a horrible smell, and get out to check everything out once we get up the hill...
its just so mind wretching knowing she might do this when im not in the car, and she shows little regard when she does stuff like this. when something else goes wrong, you better believe none of the blame for wear and tear comes from my driving style.
the car seems to be fine when i drove it a little bit ago... when it comes time for her to graduate, i will recommend that whatever she wants, they better make it an automatic. i think im gonna get carpul tunnel riding with her...
i just wish i didnt have to share a car w/ her, especially not this one, that i fell in love with from the moment i first drove it. im now on the side of the spectrum where i believe its not a person by person basis... women cant drive. sure there are some that probably can... congratulations to them, my sister cant.
end rant..

ya man my oil light randomly will flash for a couple seconds then shut off. This happened a couple of times, i added some more oil in it and it went away. Keep in mind i got the oil changes less then 1000 miles ago
