Default Is my ride TOAST?

So a month or two ago I hit this chunk of metal in the road with my 1996 a4 auto and it busted the transmission pan, which I fixed (welding) and everything appeared okay. Then, about a week later, I realized more fluid was leaking. I checked the pan, and made sure all the seals were good, adding more fluid, but there was still a major leak, apparently coming from somewhere in front of the pan. I don't know if it's related but if the tranny is no good there's no way I can afford to get a new one right now. Does anybody have ideas or advice? Also, there's really no way to see the leak because when the car's in the air (off or in gear) it won't leak. It probably would if the wheels turned but the way I lifted it that wasn't possible (quattro). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Spray down the underside of the car. Take her around the block. Jack it up and see where the fluid is leaking from. You can go from there, but you need to find what is leaking first.
