My rotors are rusted?

Actually, be really careful of what you use to clean brake components. Isopropyl alcohol or brake-specific cleaner is all you should ever use.

well, it depends (caliper reply). if its rusted on the caliper then realy he can use anything without doing any harm, as long as common sence is involved and the caliper is off. but yea, if its the actaul calipers piston thats rusted (whcih i cant see how unless you have low life on your discs and your pads are way out) then obviously dont use vodka or orange cleaner lol

Rotors have been known to build rust in a few hours. The longer it sits the more it builds. Just take the car out for a leasurely ride and ride the brakes slightly for a couple miles. Should clean them right up.
