Anyone else have an annoying whirring from somewhere inside the stereo unit. I have a 01 A4, the the damn thing wont stop buzzing. It sounds like its coming from inside the area where the tape deck is. If I smack the side of the middle console the whirring stops for a few seconds then starts up again.

Holy cow its annoying. About to rip the stereo unit our and replace it.

 

do you have a CD in it??? i sometimes get a buzzing sound from that area. and i have come to the conclusion it is from the heat/air conditioning fans. how loud is it?

 

Not very loud, but loud enough to annoy the crap out of me.

I'm going crazy, and apparently no one else has ever had this problem.

a ton of people have this problem. It means your turn signal switch is on its way out, lol... idk why but thats what it is. I had the same buzzing sound, right from behind my AC - CD area, and about 4 months later the switch went out and the buzzing is gone, lol.

search the forums, this has been talked about into depth before so you could probably find some pretty good info.

 

If the noise increases with your throttle its a sign of a bad ground wire on the radio

 

Ok I'm not sure if it increases with accel, I will check that out today.

My turn signal is messed up too! Not all the time but occasionally it will start clicking slower then just go out.

 

Looks thats like that is the issue, i guess its a simple fix, find the thread and get it taken care of
