Here in MA, emissions testing is only every 2 years. Also, if you fail, you have 90 days to fix it. I figure, if I fail, I'll just throw my cat back in, drive around for a week, then go back to get tested. I don't even have a cel and I've put on over 6K miles since the install.

 

I agree with if I fail.. Plus all they do is plug into the ECU where I get checked in NJ so hopefully that'll be all good..

Install the testpipe directly after you've done your smog test

Yeah exactly... tell the dude at the place:

I wanna keep my cat, in 2-3-4 years you come back, have him reinstall the cat... go take the test and your home free with more power for another couple years

2 years is a long time.. some people wont even own that car for that long.

Testpipes are so worth it in my eyes.. wish I wasnt broke[:@]

 

Okay so lucky me I got into 2 little races off the line today.. first one was with a new 2.8T and the second was a new G35! Now I don't know the quartermile times of these cars or the power but I do know G35s are supposed to be pretty fast.

So the 2.8T I just ate alive, to the point I felt like he wasn't even trying but I could tell he jumped at the line and could hear the engine as I took off... The G35 was also from a dead stop. But the kid wouldn't look over at me so I wasn't sure if he was planning anything so I let him get the jump. So I didn't even have the advantage of a good launch but once the turbo spooled up in 1st I was right on him, nose to the doors even tho he had a good 2 cars from his launch. Then I started walkin up on him at about 70 and at 80ish we were even and he backed off. So I don't know what my car runs but apparently it beats G35s so yay!

 

I have a 3' test pipe and I love it. Made the turbo very audible, quicker spool time, and a bit of low end torque.

 

I need to chip then install my testpipe..

If you guys knew the debt I've got myself into you'd be disgusted.

how much did you guys pay to get the test pipe installed, or is it hard, i live in nj and if anyone is around essec county and wants to make this a day project, will chill out grap a 30 rack or so and make a day out of this.

i should throw it out there though that i do not have any prior experience with this putting on a test pipe, i am a quick learner but i do not know what im doing. Just throwing it out there
