Default My Thanks and Rebuild Update

Hey guys, Thank you guys so much for your support and advice during my little problem. Part of my personality is to go against the flow, its risky but im willing to take my chances. Thanks once again for your support and commrodery (sp)

Now for the updates. I was able to gather up some money by selling some parts i really didnt need. I recieved the head and i am finished polishing it, but I am still waiting for some guidence on how to port the head correctly. I ordered a set of Cat Cams performance vavle springs and Al retainers, supposidly can handle up to 9k rpm. I am still in the market for valves and cams so if anyone knows of any company, reputable or not, i would like to hear about it. Thanx

Hey David, good to hear the rebuild is going well. You, against the grain? Say it isn't so. LOL. What all did you sell? Something tells me the 12.59 is going down in flames. Sounds like your plans for this rebuild are going to be faster than that. What are your plans for the turbo system? Pics?

Chris, sweet job on the manifold, I like it. Are you selling the ported manifold? Which manifold do you have now? I was looking at maybe getting an exhaust manifold from a S3, availiable form www.europrice.com. But i'm definatly interested in the manifold if i can somehow fit an external wastegate on it. On another note, have you thought about porting your intake manifold? That would be pretty sweet, and if you did it yourself you could have double bragging rights.

Doose, I already have in my posession a KO4, I traded my T3 + equal length header, Downpipe and external wastegate for the KO4, Giac stage 1.5 computer, Catless downpipe, and $400. (dont tell Kris but i only paid $400 for the T3) I also sold him my porsche brake caliper conversion kit. I'm thinking if i stay with the KO4 i will probably buy Chris' manifold from him. But if i go with the S3 manifold or the RS2 manifold i could go with the K26 turbo from the 911 porsche. Wouldn't that be sweet. I ont have any pics b/c I dont have a digital camera. (Putting every penny I have availiable into this car, save for rent money, car payments, credit card bills etc.) After payday (16th) I'm going to order 252/260 schrick camshafts custom ground from Dahlbach Racing, but I'm still in need of new valves. I hope to be able to run 12's again but I'd be happy with a stock 150hp 1.8T if it worked right now. I still cant figure out why I trapped at such a slow speed. (103 mph)

Anyways, that the wrap for now. Oh, one more thing, I decided to go ahead and port the head myself and I'm going to have somebody else check my work. I am going to get some pictures. I promise.

check your link http://www.europrice.com./

BTW David looking at your new used head do you notice any burs in the intake ports Mine had some major burs (1/8inch) which I remove of course

Thanks for the update. Sounds to me like you'll hit mid 12's without any problem at all with the mods you are planning. You got any leads on valves yet?

As far as your low traps, awd always traps lower b/c they have better 60fts. A low trap can also be an indidcation of a dying/unhealthy motor. Are any tranny/transfer case/axle upgrades necessary with your setup? At what point are they necessary? Thanks.
