Default N00b with XM questions....

I'm looking to put XM in my new (to me) a4 and have a couple questions... First, I've read posts about where to get the OEM controller and how to install it but those instructions are for 2006 vehicles and mine is a 2003. There doesn't appear to be an antenna on the roof and no SAT button on the Symphony radio. Is there any chance that the rest of the wiring is already in the car and is there a how-to for someone in my situation??

I have a Delphi XM receiver and can install it if an OEM solution isn't availablebut couldn't find any pictures or information on where people are installing the magnetic antenna that comes with the unit. I'm thinking that I could attach it to the rear tray above the brakelight but I'm sure that my reception will suffer.. The question is, how much?? I don't want to stick the antenna to the paint because we have winter where I live and road salt will destroy the paint around and under the antenna. I installed a magnetic GPS antenna on a previous vehicle and after one year the paint under the antenna was in very sad condition.

If anyone can provide any assistance with this, I would greatly appreciate it. I found a bunch of information about OEM integration using the search feature but couldn't find answers to these questions.

Thank you.

I have the same issue. Did you get any help, or do we just have to do it FM modulation way?

I put the XM in my 01 A4. No satellited hook ups in the car, so i mounted it using the clips that grab onto the air vents. It kinda hides the fog light buttons, but looks and works good. I mounted the magnetic antenna to the roof just above the middle of the windshield. No probs with automatic carwashes yet (all 4 or 5 in the last few years)- that was my main worries before the install.

Find the stock sirius tuner on Ebay or thru a dealer. It's prewired in the driver side rear for a Changer/sat unit.http://www.audiworld.com/tech/elec121.shtml
