N75 Race Valve or Manual Boost Controller?
I would like to get the ECS Tuning N75 Race valce for my A4 however i've been hearing a lot of bad things can happen from it. Such as going into some sort of "safe" mode that only boosts to 10psi or something. My question is would it be better to go with the ECS Tuning N75 Race valce or go with a Forge Manual Boost Controller I have a boost gauge so i could adjust it rather easily, but if i go with the Forge Manual Boost Controller then what do i do with the cable leading the the N75 valve? Just leave it free flowing?
Any input would be helpfull.
and for those "Use the seard tool" people, i did and didn't see anything.
Thanks,
Nick

I have the ECS N57 Race Valve on my stock A4. I went into "limp mode" once when I first put it in. I think thats because I hit the rev limiter and there's some sort of wierd relation between that and the n75. Someone else could explain more about it. But ever since that one time it's been working great, you'll notice an improvement for sure. When it comes to MBC's, well.. I don't know what to tell you there.
what happened when you went into limp mode? how long did it last? did you have to clear any codes or did it just go away and if so, how long did it take for that to happen?
The N75 will hold more boost rather than letting it out. Onepoint8tee did a good writeup on his experiences with his new N75 valve - i am looking forward to mine which is in the mail.
As for manual boost controller, I am pretty sure it allows you to select how much boost therefore allowing for you to overboost your little K03. You can end up killing your K03 rather quickly if you aren't careful.

In limp mode you have no power... I can normally hear my turbo spool up, and with the Bailey DV, and EvoMS intake, I can hear the diverted air pretty good too. But in limp mode, I don't hear any of that and the car is slow as ****. It's a built in safety precaution. I turned off my car, disconnected/reconnected the battery, did a TBA and it has been fine since. I think all you really have to do is turn off your car and then when you start it up again it should be fine, I just played it safe. No CEL came on or anything for me. I think this all happened within the first day or 2 of putting it in.
Weird, just called ECS and they stated that it doesn't work on the A4, i said that it was labeled on the website that it would wotk. he seemed suprised... that iwas odd. Any thoughts?
