Nav Update
Thanks to everyone for replies to prior posts.
Here is a new question. I drive 2005.5 A4 and also have 2005 A4 Cabriolet. Both have the Nav system. Last week I bought the map update through audiusa and put it in my car. It went to a red screen and updated system software initially, then rebooted itself and started working. Well the good thing that the system update does is add a digital clock readout on the bottom of the Nav screen... handy for passengers.
Now here is the issue, I also installed the system update in the Cabriolet, which has the same system, but put the original route map disk back in the drive. Since doing that, the cabriolet has intermittently started up from cold with the route guidance running, even though it had not been when the car was turned off. I figured out a work around, which is to leave the destination fields blank, but I really don't think the program should do this (it didn't before the update).
Does anyone think that the updated system program is now in conflict with the original map disk? I didn't actually want to fork out $400 for two disks, since I'm not driving both cars on trips simultaneously. Does anyone know of a way to revert the system back to the original? I did try the "return to factory settings" but that only reset all the virtual ***** etc.
Thanks in advance for your replies.
