Default Navigation for the 2003 audi A4 1.8T

My boy received a navigation system for the 03 audi a4
he claims it's 3000 and it acutally comes with the stereo face (pretty much the whole front)
he's giving to me for 900 bucks, it's still new in the box, sealed.
Do you guys have navi and is it worth it? or is it a pain in the a$$?

Well the navigation for audi now costs anywhere from 600-1500 these days. I have it in my car and love it. Great system.

You are talking about this nav right?

to be honest with you. i havent seen it (it was in the box)
first of all, the 3000 dollar that he claims it's worth, i didnt believe one bit...i figured 1500-2000
but knowing the price range you just gave me,,,im getting it for 500 bucks

i just wanted to know whoever has it, if you find it useful

even if i don't use it that much....aspectwise, it looks very nice i feel

This thing had helped me out many times in a pinch. It has a lot of nice features, I especially like the option to insert SD music cards into it to play my MP3's. You know install isn't going to be totally plug and play right? You'll need wiring harnesses and a gps antenna. Everything can be bought in the classifies at:

Also they have many good tutorials.

thank you for your answers by the way

i was looking at your navig. picture and i didnt see if if you have a cd player...i currently have the 6 cd player symphony II
since i plan on buying the icelink plus so i can play my ipod anyway, i guess i will install everything at once
you were saying something about some MP3 card....i guess it doesnt't apply to Ipods does it?

but the wiring, i'll give it to him since he is the biggest audi fanatic i have seen
he can literally take every single piece apart and put it back together....500 bucks + free installation, not a bad price
)

thanks

Well the face of the unit folds down like this to expose two sd slots:

SD is a memory type usually used in digital cameras or mp3 players .

You'll notice that there is a DVD slot for the navigation DVD. I think it can also double as a CD player but you won't be able to use the navigation feature without the DVD in. The navigation (you'll here it called RNS-E) comes from the factory with a 6 disk changer located in the glove box.
