Default Need AC Clutch for a '96 A4 2.8L Quatro

My AC stopped working, and all signs point to a bad clutch coil (the system has plenty of pressure, and the clutch fails to engage even when I apply battery voltage directly to the wire leading to the AC clutch). Unfortunately, I can't find an AC coil or AC clutch for this car anywhere on the net (ebay, parts stores, whatever). I don't want to have to buy the whole damn compressor to fix this problem. Is it possible to buy just an AC clutch for this car (1996 A4 2.8L) anwywhere? Thanks.

I think you have to replace the whole compressor. Why wouldnt you want to do so on a 10 yr old+ car anyway?? Who knows how much longer it will last even with a new clutch in it???

how did you test the system pressure ( you need a gauge ) even though you might think the pressure is good it only has to drop to a certain pressure and the clutch wont cut in

Used a gauge, and even had it professionaly tested. The pressure checks out.
