Need advice from A4 guru (buying used A4)
Hello all - long time lurker here - but hope to me chiming in more often. I am trying to find a used 02 A4 and do not really know what to look for when searching for a used A4....in particular, what can I expect from an A4 with say, 55,000 miles on the clock? I am not sure what kind of isssues to look for including suspension issues.
Here is one that I found that I am really interested in:
2002 Audi A4 3.0 Quattro Sedan AWD with 57,800 miles - asking $15,900 for the car. This is a sport Pkg w/ 17" wheels, Xenon lights w/ washers, Tiptronic transmission w/ steering shift, leather, Power seats, Moonroof, 6 disc In-dash Bose sound system, Stability control+ traction, etc. They say they have all records on this car.
Just curious as to what the group might think.
Thanks for your input.

first and foremost that 50-60 K range is when you should start lookin' to see if the timing belt is done. that can get fairly expensive fairly quick. fellas, chime in on this one...
No one will have done the timing belt at 57K. The usual culprits are the front control arms (do you hear squeeks or clunks when you drive slowly over a bump.
As with any used car, have it checked by a reputable mechanic before you buy.
