Since we are on the topic, would a bad fan clutch/signal store a fault code??? When my AC is on it just sounds like there is a big fan under my hood that never turns off (until i turn the ac off), but when my ac isnt on i never hear a fan turn on. My running temps are always Ok though.

So, my car's in the shop for throwing the temperature warning, they checked all the sensors and they're fine. He called back a min ago saying my fan clutch went out. When I took it in there, my fan would spin. If the clutch went out, would the fan still spin? does this sound right? I'm supposed to call him back in a minute to let him know what to do. THe part is $160 and he doesn't know about labor yet...

I've got it taken care of. I'm going ahead and replacing the clutch, i went down there and saw it... It keeps engaging and disengaging (sporadically, like it'll be stopped, then start slipping, then stop again... and it's rattling), I'm just gonna get it fixed. I also found the real problem that kept throwing my temp warning. A brand new sensor in my brand new coolant reservoir has gone bad. I'm getting the sensor for free since he was the one that ordered the reservoir for me. Good stuff... The fan clutch and labor totalled out to be $240.
