The good people at Audi America basicly told me to FO today. Their excuse was since I performed my own oil changes and not paid a so called professional to change it, I voided my sludge warranty. What a bunch of sorry bastards. My new goal in life is to spread the word on what a piece of **** Audi and its dealers are. My interest here is over. Thanks and good luck to all.

boosted, are you saying the car was never serviced at a dealer, even when it was under warranty?

Well, you have already fuc.ked your valve's so see if the belt is actually turning at all when you crank it...... Better yet, just take it to the shop, I highly doubt Audi are gonna pay for it if your car has done over 105,000 and especially not if you have already changed it once. It's gonna cost you about 3k

The nearest dealer is 40 miles away, thats an 80 mile round trip. The first time I took the car in to have the abs checked they told me I needed all new front wheel bearnings and that was the cause of the abs failure. The kicker on that problem is they would not warranty the bearings. My wheel bearings ended up being fine and I lost confidence in the dealership. I have always change my own oil and use only royal purple or mobile1. I also used audi oem filters. I have only put 13,000 miles on the car since my ownership and I find it hard to beleive a that in this day and time a modern engine could fail from sludge in that mileage frame. Even if I never changed the oil in the 13,000 miles the only damage that should have occured would be worn rings. I haved owned two toyotas with 250,000 plus miles and never had a oil circulation problem. Audi F@$#up somewhere in its engine design and are using any bullshit excuse they can to get out of a recall and or fix any of the many problems inherent with these cars. What pisses me off the most is I really liked the car.

Just unlunky boost, I think thats what happened to mine too. Sorry to hear though. I wouldn't have told Audi that you serviced it. Anyway good luck with your endeavour in spreding the word and everything. Hope it turns out ok for you.

Notice Concerning Audi A4 and Volkswagen 1.8 Liter turbo engines

We have a client for whom we are investigating the design defects of the Audi A4 1.8 turbo that resulted in oil sludging and related engine failure.

We are interested in hearing the details of anyone else’s experience, including any dealings with Audi in connection with its “extended warranty” offer.
