Default Need help ASAP!!!!!!

Hey guys I Was wondering what your take is on a 2000 Audi a4 2.8 Quattro with 180,000 miles on it. I am thinking of buying one but I'm not sure how much longer it will last. The serpentine and timing belt has just been replaced along with a new water pump. Also there are all new plugs and wires in it. I'm just wondering if this purchase would be too risky as it may become a money put so I have heard in other forums. Thanks in advance!

https://www.audiforums.com/forum/aud...ion-2-a-80968/ <- Read that. It'll tell you all the things I'm too lazy to type. Now, if you're thinking that it'll behave like a Honda or a Toyota at 180k then you're wrong. It'll require a little more TLC than the Japanese whips but it's no Yugo. It's good that the timing belt was done BUT make sure that there are receipts for the work. The 2.8's, especially, are known for their longevity in the German car community.

I have had a couple of high mileage A4's. 1 of them was a 2003 A4 with 221,000 miles when I finally sold it, and it still ran great. Mostly because the original owner I purchased it from took great care of it. And that is an important key to having a reliable high mileage vehicle.
So if you are purchasing from the original owner, and the car visibly looks well taken care of for the age and mileage, I would purchase, but it's also important to work on your own car, because the smallest repair will not be cheap.
