Hey Guys
I'm new with Audi and I have a little problem. I just purchase an A4 1.8T this past weekend
and I tried to put a burn cd into the cd player but it wouldn't read the disc. I put in an original
disc but still it gaves me an error. When I got home, I found that there is a 6 disc changer, and
tried to put some disc in but they all have error and wouldn't read. Can anyone help me with
this??? That would be greatly appreciated if someone would lend some time to help. Thanks!

Another question: When you cruise in the highway using the cruise control for over two hours,
is the hour suppose to flash? When I came home using the cruise control, I think for the first
hour, the place where it displays the miles I have left in the tank starts to flash 2:00h and wouldn't
go off. What does that mean??

Lastly: Has anybody have a check engine light code: Air/Fuel Mixture?
I bought it from a Luxury dealer in Chicago, IL and I'm not sure if they do any maintenance before
putting the car up for sale in their lot.

The year of my A4 is 2000

What error is your CD changer displaying?

Yes it is suppose to flash 2:00, it is suggesting it's time to take a break from driving. It's in your owner's manual.

A CEL can be any number of things. You will have to have the car scanned for the fault code. No way to help you otherwise.

 

Well, I took a break for about 5 minutes but after I went back to the highway,
it didn't reset so how long do I suppose to take a break? Is it normal that even
after a little drive in the city, the hood is very hot??? Not sure if the anti-coolant
fan is working. Thanks for the prompt reply. I'll get the error code so you can
probably help me on that Jestnomen.

Ok, the error code for the cd and cd changer is ERR1
I'm not sure what it means so if anybody can help
me, that will be great. By the way, is there a region
change for Audi cars?? I'm sure there is no difference
between Audi in Germany and Audi in the USA as far
as CD player is there?

 

the lens on the cd player might be dusty. you can buy a lens cleaner at radio shack for like $15 and run it through the cd player. that might help.

 

i've got a 2000 1.8 with the same error1 code on my cd player... took it back to the dealer where i bought it, he took it out, sent it away. A week later i was told that he couldn't fix it, and now i'm left waiting for another stock deck to come in...

 

I will try to clean the lense to see if it will help. I went to a audio store
and they say that it might be a region issue. I don't understand why
they would put a Germany region sound system into their car that is
to be sold in U.S. But hope cleaning the lense will help.
