Need to replace valve cover gasket, got minor leak which i was told is a coomon issue with our cars. Audi wanted 300, F-that gasket was 45 bucks gonna install this weekend anyone do it before got any tips. Thanks

 

There not hard as everything is on top but just take your time and look things over.

I took mine off during the summer...not bad at all

 

Pretty easy, just a handfull of bolts and about few hours of time (if you take your time). Make sure you get the cam tensiner gasket also. That is easy if you have some help.

 

take pics and do a DIY for it... i need to do it too, due to that small leak... let us know how it goes!!!

There are a few floating around on here and other sites. Shouldnt need to make another one.

 

how bout seafoaming the engine, then drain out the oil and do the gasket, then put new oil back in. unless you just got an oil change not long ago.

 

i just got mine too... i got the VVG, cam ten gasket and rear coolant flange... im going to bust all my knuckles in one day.


there are some DIY on www.audizine.combut no one is clear on where the gasket sealant goes.... they just say six spots i believe, its been awhile since i looked

 

I have done it twice and havent used any sealent. It wasnt meant to have any. You can use it to hold the gaskets in place but they dont slide since they fit snuggly.
