need some help

Default need some help

i was doing my A8 brake upgrade and noticed this. this (steering?) part on the passenger side in the pic was loose and wobbled a bit side to side in a clock wise maner. the pic is from the drivers side forgot to take a pic of it.

what part is this

should i be worried

anything i can do the bolts seem tight

also where can i get not to expensive but decent upgraded brake lines my oem ones are fraied

Cant help you on that one why dont u try posting in the forum for A8's or take it to the dealer and ask them.

That is a tie rod end. It needs to be replaced. There is an upgraded heavy duty part made and available at ECS.

Symptoms are a "clunk" if you go slowly over curbs or bumps, and poor steering response. It needs to be fixed. If you are having control arm issues (eg squeeks, you might as well replace them at the same time.

audilover04.... i have an a4. i just upgraded my brakes they consist of tt calipers brackets and A8 rotors.

david9999....i have the ecs upgrade kit with heavy duty tie rod ends. they were installed prob less than a year ago. i have no symtoms like you discribed i know th failing controlarm squeek/clunk very well. it was just a little loose


anyone else??
