I really dont think this will effect your exhaust in the cab smell. Maybe its just me but the hole seems to smell to make the hole cab consistently smell of exhaust fumes. Have you had any exhaust work done recently at all? There are gaskets that could have been left off that are leading to leaks or you could simply have a hole in the exhaust somewhere. It is possible that hose will fix your problem but I doubt it

Well it's usually just when i come to a stop, i don't smell it when i'm driving but when i stop it comes out of the vents, it smells really bad right there also if i open my engine up.

I was thinking it was more of a permeating lingering smell.

It could definitely be that leak, I am curious to see how things turn out.

I believe that's your PCV piping. They'll deteriorate from the heat and breakdown. Crankcase vapors are probably being sucked up into your cowl vent and into the cabin. You probably need to replace that for more than just your health. There's the possibility of blowby gases building up in your engine.
