Default Need some Suggestions or Opinions

Hey, I COULD REALLLY USE SOME HELP. PLEASE HELP. Just got a 1998 a4 2.8, manual trans, and have been taking it out for drives over the last 3 days. I'm pretty new to driving manual, so I'm still kind or learning. Anyways, I've been doing a lot of powershifting and double clutching as well as practicing shifting frequently. There never seemed to be any major issues, except when I didn't balance my clutch and the car would jerk sometimes, or a few times when I didn't double clutch well and the car jerked hard. After, driving for a bit, i stopped at a stopsign while in 3rd, came to a complete stop, shifted into 1st and then zipped off again, but my CHECK ENGINE LIGHT came on immediately and has been on ever since. However, I don't feel any differences with the driving, and there were no smells or gases coming from either the engine or the clutch. Do you know what could be damaged??? Or whether or not any clutch parts could be damaged? Do you find the clutch to be susceptible to double clutching and powershifting?? any help please......

you dont need to double shift. by power shift do you mean not putting the clutch in? go to auto zone or soemthing like it. and get your car scaned and tell me what your codes are

by powershift I mean I floor the clutch, then add gas (to rev match) and then immediately release the clutch all the way [no friction point], because it is smoother and easier to rev match.

you can clear it by pulling the neg battery cable for a few, and see if it comes back.

getting the codes read would be the more prudent choice.

Don't disconnect the battery unless you have your radio security codes.

Autozone = free scan

Lost radio code = 100 dollars at dealer
