No they are directional. Mine were stamped L/R on the back of the rotor.

If you were to put that rotor on the other side the slot would face the other way (aka: would be a back slash, not a forward slash).

if it wasn't for the raised center part I would agree but I really cant see any other way to fit them unless the centers on your are fitted last and I havnt seen any like that, if you put the disc on either side the slot would face to the front

the whole point is for the gasses(what gasses lmao) or better yet heat to escape to the outside. SO heat goes from inside (hub side) to outter edge. You have them on backwards

edit: if you use those brakes the wrong way youd actually create more heat.

Gasses are not so prevailent in todays pads. Earlier pad materials produced a lot of gas when heated to combustable temperatures - enough to form a pressured gas layer between the pads and the rotor, reducing braking effectiveness. With todays wide range of pad materials, the slots don't need to do that job as much. They look great, and do help in dissapating heat, but don't really serve as important a purpose as they once did.

so havin the part of the slot that is closest to whe wheel hub contact the pad first is the correct way?

or is the forward slot idea way better?

notice that in the two pictures above the slots do as i just said, the part of the slot that is the closest to the wheel hub contacts the pad first
