Never understood this.
Maybe I'm totally wrong, but I never understood why the codes that an Audi gets has so many things that need to be checked.
Like this one:
P1136
17544
Long Term Fuel Trim Add. Fuel, Bank1
System too Lean -
Check intake air system for leaks ("false air") Page 24-97
- Check Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor -G70- Page 24-57
- Check fuel pressure regulator and residual fuel pressure Page 24-93
- Check fuel injectors
Why can't it just be a single thing to check. Just seems like it's too difficult to figure out sometimes. This isn't my code, thankfully I don't have any, but if I ever get one I'm going to be pissed. I wouldn't want to have to check all that stuff for a fix. Just don't get it.

RE: Never understood this.
Because like any other car it could be a variety of things that will give the same symptom. They're just trying to cover all the bases and taking the guess work out of diagnostics.

RE: Never understood this.
Those are all the things that can cause a lean condition.
same thing on your acura. I just decoded all the things that can cause a lean condition...
Vacuum leak, ECU getting a signal that not enough air is going into the engine (BAD MAF), or not enough fuel (clogged injector or not enough fuel pressure).

RE: Never understood this.
o2 sensor is the first mistake you will make because it was an air leak so the o2 sensor detected it and threw the code (air leak caused the problem) o2 sensor was doing its job, the codes are a guide and have to be read like a book im given 3 to 5 choices to check out, if you only know the code you only have one choice through lack of knowledge which is why I can look for possibilities and you cant (im trained to do this)
