I just bought a 2001 audi a4 1.8T 5spd. It has lots of basic mods on it, 2.5in turbo back exhaust, intake, and short shifter. Now I'm told the owner before me had a APR chip installed in it but said the cruise control setup is missing. Now it seems to me from reading on APR's website that it comes with these controls? Is there any way I can check to see if it really has the chip? and if so how do I know that it's running the right maps?

 

go test drive another 1.8 and see if urs is faster

 

Get a boost gauge. See what its peaking at and where it holds.

 

it has a boost gauge but I'm not sure it is hooked up right. peaks at 18-20psi that seems really high to me

You've got boost. Congratulations. I'm not sure what issue you have with cruise control, but it isn't caused by a chip.
