Default new a4 2.0t owner

hello guys, today i am supposed to get my a4 quattro 2.0t 6speed delivered.
However i have a few questions concerning the break in process, since this is my first turbo car.
Any tips or ideas on how turbo engines need to be broken in for maximum performance/economy/reliability?
thanks in advance

prob dont take it above 3000 RPMs for 1000 miles or so. the longer u dont beat on ur car the strong the engine will be. If driven long distances let the car and turbo cool down before shutting it off

I saw a brand new black one at Renn Art yesterday. Sweet ride. I'm starting to get used to the new front grill style.

Hey welcome to the forums. Hope you enjoy your 2.0T as much as I do. Engine break in procedures are clearly covered in the owners manual.

proper break-in does NOT consist of taking it easy because if you do that, the rings will never properly seal and you will be forever losing power later on. I don't know what the manual recommends, but I'm sure it has in some words that you should get on a good few times for proper ring break-in. Now that's ring break, clutch break in is required too for long and reliable use. As stated, check the owners manual, i'm sure audi has proper instructions

Thanks for your replies....
The controversy between "taking it easy" and "driving it hard" during the break-in process is a popular topic...
Noone seems to have any support to their statments, just opinions.....
I havent seen the manual yet, but i'm sure it will suggest the "taking it easy" approach... which has been criticized by many lately....

Will i have to wait for the turbo to cool down every time i drive it for a long period of time ? How long do I have to wait !? Is it automated (the car will run even when the key is taken out untill the turbo cools off)?

Thanks again!

You only have to wait for your turbo to cool if you have been driving spiritedly. Normal driving (long distance or not) does not require any extra turbo cooling. Just don't be pushing it hard and then turn off the car. I just make sure I drive normally for a minute or two before I reach my destination.

You will like a chip if you get it. No doubt - you will like it. However there are warranty issues to contend with. Just do a search on warranty and chips.
