My A4 has ~108,000 miles on it. I don't know whether I should start saving up for a new A4 2.0T or save up for some crazy upgrades. The A4 is in great condition now. It's had synthetic oil from day 1, timing belt replaced, and been babied. So i guess my question is.. is this car going to be worth putting $10,000 or more into for sick mods or am I just better off saving up to buy a new/gently used 2.0T?

 

This is one of those questions that just cant be anwsered.

 

i'm bout to dump 5 or 6 grand into mine and im at 106k, if you got 10g's you might as well get a shop to do a vr6-t swap and then you have a newer engine

so you can definitely stick with your b5 BUT big things are gona be happening with that 2.0t soon, so holding off now may pay off in the long run

 

You've already got a really nice B7. Keep the B6 and mod the hell out of it.

 

im keeping the s4 completely stock. and i just like the sound of big a** turbos

 

build that motor and run a bt if you like the sound. if you already have an s4 keep that as your dd and mod the hell out of your other

 

If I were you, I'd mod the a4. Assuming you like to work on cars, I'd make the b6 my project car and use the s4 as my daily driver.

 

those 2.0T engines can spool a bigger turbo easier... i cant wait to see what kind of #'s they will be putting to the ground...

As with any older car, you will start having to replace some wear and tear items... no big deal though...

 

+1 if you get a new 2.0T it will take you even longer to save up for mods for that and by then theyll have made a 2.2T of something haha. beside with 10k you can make that car plenty fast

or mod the S4thatd be a lot harder though

 

keep the 1.8 and mod it...online they sell race short blocks with build up internals for about 4500 and they are raisedto a 2.0 so u can put a monster turbo and make some insane power...
