The advertised on the 07 A4's is 22 City and 32 Highway. When I'm on the highway i get about 31.5. The average MPG I get when driving around every day is about 26.5. On a tank I can usually get about 370 miles. A little more if there is some good highway driving in there (crusing about 80-85mph).
BTW it is very easy to go fast in these little cars. I find myself doing 100 when I'm passing people, but not until I look down at the spedometer.
**The car also does 100 quite nicely. It's scary how fast you come up on people doing like 70. You pass them like there not even moving.

During regular driving I average about 24-26 mpg. I keep the RPM's low and drive responsibly. Highway trips if you keep a constant speed you will get about 30-32 mpg(cruise control at 80). However, if you do a lot of passing you'll be down in the 22-25 range.
But common sense says the harder you drive, the faster you'll burn through a tank. I average about 380 gallons per tank. I actually got about 400 on the last tank I got. (1/4 not chipped 3/4 chipped)
