Default new audi user, need advice

dear all member

i am new owner of 2000 A4 V6 2.6 (yes 2.6), need advice on taking care of my audi. i heard some information from local audi user here, i don't the truth here so I need some help to clarify this information.
here's some of it:
1. never use aftermarket part. use original one..original last longer than aftermarket one.. is it true?
2. triptonic transmission are weak part. some says 150k km, some need change the whole part..is it true?
3. the temperature indicator should not over 90c, if over that might be overheat. (mine sometimes got 95 in really bad traffic and really hot weather, then goes normal again..)
4. never do DIY, go with expert..is it true?

well i still got alot of question but better to learn slowly. sorry for bad grammar. english is not my first language.

thanks all
nunu

Welcome...
1. Stock parts are cheap and low quality. Aftermarket parts are USUALLY sturdier and better made, thats why they're more expensive.
2. False, as long as you don't beat the crap out of the drivetrain it'll last very long.
3. Thats fine, thats probably when the fan kicks in.
4. BS! Which Audi dealership told you that? j/k If your mechanically inclined DIY. You'll save alot of money.

Anymore questions?

wow..thats quick.
.
1. what i meant with after market part is the OEM part but not sold trough regular audi channel, some are made in germany some are italy. some says that OEM brand audi last longer than other OEM. i just change my tie rod end with OEM made in germany. cheaper than OEM audi. I don't mind to change for better one actually.
2. that's relieving. so what kind of oil use for this transmission? and how long should i replace it again?
3. I live in very hot and humid condition, SE asia. some said to flush the radiator and use radiator coolant rather than regular water.
4. audi dealer here. I believe for some mechanical part ( changing tire, tie rod etc), can be done in regular workshop, but for engine side I do believe to go for expert..am i wrong here?

more question will follow..thank trey25
