Im trying to change my alt. out but the bottom bolt wont come out all the way.The fan is in the way.

Does the fan have to come out,if it does can someone give some advise on how to take the fan out.

Or if theres even like a online repair manual somewhere that would be awesome.

Its a 2001 Audi A4 1.8 turbo.

 

my bently manual says take top bolt and nut off loosen bottom bolt and take out alternator

 

I took the top bolt off and loosened the bottom one as well, only loosened tho cause it wont come all the way out.

The alternator is not coming out.I have tryed all different ways of pulling but not giving.

Is that bently manual for a Audi A4 ?

No shlt. So it says to just loosen that bottom bolt but NOT take out right? And then just pull the alt. out.

Dont say anything about removing the fan or anything else.

WTF.I did that but its not coming out.Hummm...

 

fan removal
secure pulley for fan with pin punch and unfasten using allen key
remove fan from mounting

 

Ok does it say you have to remove the fan to get access to the alt ??

Is there anyway you can get specific with the details from the boook for reomoving the alt ?

I would really appreciate if you post what the book says in steps.That would be awesome. Thanks man.

 

disconnect battery
loosen belt and take off alternator
remove fan and put into radiator cowl
remove electrical connectons loosen bolts and remove alternator

thats how the book has it
