new engine?
I purchased my firstAudi a 2002 A4 3.0 31,836 miles in August. August 30th the engine light came onand the both catalitic converters needed to be replaced. Two weks ago the oil lamp came on. The dealer replaced theoil pump bu cuold not find the problem for the low pressure. Audi had them put in a new engine. What shoud I be concerned about now?
They still have the car. I should be picking it up Monday (?). I will ask about the oil lines. I know nothing about fixing cars other that paying for them and following the maintenance schedules. At the time of purchase, I bought the extended warranty. With the original warranty running out (38,000 now) will engine problems begin when the extended runs out? Does it make sense to have an extended warranty on a new engine?
Warranties are funny like that you must ALWAYS read the fine print to make sure that these things are covered. I would getthe extended just to beon the safe sideas long as it covers the major things and is cost effective. Keep your receipts for ever! You cant predict when something is going to break so i would not assume that once the warranty is up that its going to break. Now if you for some reason have nothing but problems with the car after this then yes i would sell and get a new 1 or something else.
