Default new to this forum and a question

Hello everyone I am new to this site. I currently have a 99 1.8t with 95kmi. I dont know much about my car but am learning more with the help of this site and others. With the mileage I am at I plan on doing all of my own maintenance. Just replaced the fuel filter, what a beeeaaaaatch!!!

A suggestion I would have for anyone doing this instead of reusing the bolt for the strap use a tie wrap. No need to lower the gastank anymore just cut the tie wrap, remove the filter, fish a new tie wrap and loosly secure, reinstall the new filter and sinch down the new tie wrap. A pair of loooooong needle nose pliers helps a lot.

Anyhow for my question. I am getting a #4 cyl misfire. About 6 months ago I got a #1 cyl misfire, replaced the plugs and havent seen it until now except its #4 now. I did replace the plugs again since they were ready for a change again.
My question is how are the cylinders numbered on 1.8t, 1-4 front to back or 1-4 back to front?

Thanks

the cylinder firing order is stamped directly on the engine.
