Hi everyone,

Yesterday I posted to the new member area and the moderator suggested I post to here. I think some of what I said might be relevant to this forum so I am gonna cross post (do people still use that term?) here.

...thought I should join [this forum] cause I am interested in doing more car care myself. My wife and I own a 2001 A4 (1.8 T w quattro) and it still drives like a dream.

FYI I tossed the Pirelli (OEM) POS P6000's and got some Falken tires (225/45 R17 94 W) - The Pirelli's were 225/45 R17 91 Y. But the Falken's are 1/3 the price and at way smother, plus I feel a lot more comfortable on tight turns. Anyway for anyone in downtown Toronto, I go, as seldom as possible to Downtown Fine Cars. Lately I have found DFC really like to jerk me around....

A couple questions:

1. Anyone in downtown Hog town (hogged town these days huh?) besides me looking after their own car? I am just starting to learn - still kinda proud of myself for changing the skid plate by my lonesome (that's a pretty pathetic addmission isn't it?) - and I know I am gonna have a lot of, probably annoying, questions.

2. Where is a good place for replacement parts, the car is 4 years old although everything is fine, I expect things to start dying soon and I don't want to be paying $$$$$$ to the dealer, every time something small breaks. (One thing to spend $1000 on an oil pan... well maybe not? but it does seem to me that $215 for a molded piece of plastic, the skid plate, was just a tiny bit past outragousely over priced.)

Anyway
