New h/u and amp install prob
01 a4. I actually have several problems. I installed a dnx 7100 dvd player and a 4 channel amp using the factory speakers for now. I ran new wire to the rear speakers from the amp and new wires all the way to the front and tapped into the door speakers after they came through the door via the green and violet wires. All the rca's run down the opposite side as the power. THe only thing on the power side is the driver side front wire. All the speaker work but at very low level and with a lot of interference. I also am getting feed back from the car when driving. Finally I used the antenna cable from the kit but get no reception. I didn't know if there was still a turn on for it. This was on a symphony. Probably irrelevent but I also used another amp and 2 12's with a cap for bass. Not sure what to try next. If this doesn't work I will probably have to tuck tail and head to a pro. Thanks
Your HU should have an antenna power lead on it that you'll need to hook up to your antenna.I had the same problem when i did my Kenwood HU, and after figuring out the antenna lead needed to be connected, instant reception.
Re-route your front speaker cable away from the power. I ran mypassenger side allthe way around to my driver's side and back to keep itaway. You're probably picking up interference from that. As far as lowplaying level is concerned, adjustthe gains on your amp correctly, and tinker with your HU settings. RTM (read the manual) If you don't know how to adjust your gains on your amp, do a search on Google, it's quite easy.
Oh - and definitely update all your wiring. I'm running Monster Cable 12 guage to all my speakers.
Double Oh - double-check the ground on your amp. If it's not grounded properly, you'll pick up a lot of interference with that as well.

OK I think the only prob is figuring out which is the antenna on the cars factory wiring. I will redo the one wire. Also how canI check the ground. I bolted it down good to one of the rear seat belt mounts. I saw some stuff on ground loop isolators so I will try those as well.
