Hey all, just thought I'd introduce myself.

My name's Rob, and i live near buffalo, ny... I'm 20 and will be graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering from clarkson in may, then going to UB for graduate school. Blah blah, i know nobody cares lol.

I just bought a 98 1.8T quattro A4 5spd, and it seems like you guys are pretty knowledgeable and helpful so i figured id join up in casae i run into any problems.

This will be my 6th car (and before anybody says it, i bought them all with cash and my parents haven't helped at all :-P), but the first one thats awd, and the first one that's turbo. I'm really excited :-D I road race bikes, my dad and i split an 05 sv650 and race it in the fasttrax and wera organizations in the northeast.

Once again, just thought I'd introduce myself and say hi!

Welcome! I'm from Rochester, so not too far away. I know there area few folks from buffalo here as well.

You got yourself a sweet car there, take good care of it, and it will take good care of you. How many miles on that puppy? If it's over 70K, make sure the timing belt has been changed....if not, change it pronto!

What kind of race is the fasttrax?

 

only 20 and your already graduating from college? damn son!! Its nice to be young and have some money. when I was 19 I purchased a 3 year old ford exploer for $17k, paid for it myself, I just got used to people assuming that my parents paid for it. My prediction for the future is that you will have this car for two years while you do the grad school thing and then you will become how we say "paid"

its got 110k miles on it, but the guy i'm buying it from is a doctor and has had the dealership do all the service interval work, and has the proof. (the timing belt was changed at 72k miles).

Fasttrax is a great racing league primarily out of Nelson Ledges road course in ohio. They have great street and track schools, and the race series is great fun.

Haha, yeah I'm a youngin. Sucks though, I'm going to turn 21 three days after i graduate. bad timing.

I'm also lucky, I got a great job at school doing 3-dimensional modeling and drafting for a research company that pays pretty well.

I'm hoping when I graduate with the masters / phd and get "paid", I can afford to really get the cars that I want. And the bikes, of course :-P

Yeah, I really like the color. The owner claims it's a "rare" color, pearl white. Does anybody know if this is true, or if he's just bs'in me? To be truthful, I dont really care, it's completely flawless, not a scratch... and thats, good enough for me
