New Member PLEASE HELP!
I just bought the car less than 3 months ago. Recently, it's been idling weird so I figured since I just got it, it may have been awhile since anyone changed the oil out. I decided to go ahead and change the oil. I used Mobile 1 synthetic oil like I was recommended. Anyways, I drain out the oil and noticed it was extremely dark and even after 10 minutes of draining, it was still coming out. I decided to go ahead and flush it to make sure all the bad stuff got out. I hooked up the hose, ran water through the engine, started it up and was waiting for the water to come out clean (The engine never went above idle so I was told this would be ok). Anyways, About 3 minutes into this, then engine starts shaking and sounding like it's about to die. Then it just shuts off. I figured it was all cleaned out so I plugged it up, added the oil and figured I was ready to go. WRONG! The car won't freaking start now. I thought Audis were reliable but a routine oil change broke something... Is there anything I forgot to do? I'm not too good with Audis but I thought maybe there was a sensor that cut the engine power unless a task had been done. All input appreciated guys. I can't wait to have fun with this car soon!

Not sure how to respond to your post. I mean I am dead serious. I drained the oil, washed the inside out to get the small engine particles and leftover residue out (I still haven't gotten one of those magnetic oil plug bolts). I swear the engine ran fine until the last couple of minutes. I'm thinking maybe the sparkplugs got wet or something. I'll let it sit overnight.
Yup just a routine oil change.
A routine oil change NEVER includes water in the engine!
At no point should you ever run the engine without the proper oil level.
If you think the engine is dirty on the inside you simply change the oil more often and sometimes can use the Sea Foam treatment. Many of the guys on this site are against Sea Foam if you don't know the history of the engine as breaking everything loose can clog up the oil intakes.
At this point you can try to put oil in and hope for the best, but you probably need a new engine...

If you seriously put water in your crankcase and then ran your car you most likely bricked your engine. I would recommend a plug in electric vehicle (read golf car) for you at this point, or possibly a Schwinn
