New - need advice
I just bought an 04 A4 1.8T. So I just want to do the basics to get rid of some of the lag that comes with the stock setup. I know I am going to do the Caronio intake, chip and bov.
So my questionis - what chips and bovs do you recommend?
I had a Jetta 1.8T a few years ago and remember having boost problems once the bov was installed so I am wondering if it needs to be installed in a specific place... Any and all suggestions are appreciated!
OH yeah, so far I love the car!

most tend to stick with the dv, i've heard more problems being derived from a bov with the stock tubo setup. if your really keen on the sound it makes then go for it. but otherwise chip and dv. and the best upgrade or all...the search tool.
To address all of your points - skip the Carobino intake, it's a ridiculous waste of money. $300 for something that gains you no more than a drop-in panel K&N filter is retarded. If you absolutely must part with that $300, send it to me - I guarantee I'll find a better use for it.
Chips - just search it out on here - there are about 400000000000000000000000000 posts about ECU upgrades, and it seems that most of them do more or less the same thing for your car. You can make your choice based on what you read regarding others' experiences with power gain, turn-around time for install, efficiency of customer service, and price.
BOV - as you saw in your Jetta, the BOV caused problems. This engine is the same as the one in your Audi, and the BOV will cause the same problems. Do a search for "aftermarket DV" or "Forge DV" and you'll find a lot of information about it.
Wheels - you can dish as deeply as you like, as long as you keep the rolling diameter of all four wheels equal (so you don't screw up your Quattro, if you have it). Be sure to get the wheels, in whatever width you choose, with the proper offset/backspacing/etc for the car. If you have money to burn, check out iForged, Fikse, or HRE and have a custom set built for your car. Otherwise, as long as the wheels you choose have the right specifications (which I just listed), you can dish as deeply as you want. However, go with too much lip and you're eventually going to run out of clearance under the car, and end up with your wheels sticking out of the wheel wells, which may result in rubbing on the fenders. And to be honest, more than 3" of lip on a stock-bodied car is gonna look retarded.
