New Owner
I'm new to the Audi world - just bought a 99 Audi A4 2.8 Quattro - automatic, alas.
Right now I'm interested in putting HIDs in and putting some new rims on - any suggestions on where to look for HIDs and also what wheels would look best on the car? Eventually I'll probably lower it a li' - but I'm still deciding on that one.
Thanks for all your help!

welcome to hell.
I hope you are ready to spend at least $2000 for your break down and maintaince first coupla of month, and if you are patient enought you can keep your car and keeping replacing parts and all kind of problems.

How many miles are on it? I ask because if it's around 80K you'll need the timing belt changed soon ($$$), unless it's already been done.

it has 90k on it.
Timing belt was done at 79k
Any other major things I should look out for.
as far as headlights - they're two piece. I've found some HID/projectors that would make them one piece - but I'm entirely new to the scene and would love advice!

Well, the first thing is to swap out all the fluids with new synthetic OEM fluids.
this would include transmission fluid OEM, front, center and rear differential with (mobil 1 75W90), bleed the brake fluid and replace with DOT 4+, power steering fluid (either drain the system, or use a turkey baster and swap out the fluid 4 ounces every 10K miles with Pentosin 11S), top up the battery with distilled water, change the air filter if it has been more than 30K miles, and maybe change the spark plugs. that should do you for the next 30K miles.
Check the control arms, make sure there are no cracks in the CV joint boots.
