Since no one would answer my other post, what is the advantage of a long block as opposed to a regular block. Considering if i have to replace a head gasket or w/e to fix the oil burnoff in the motor.

a long block is usually block, all internals and head
a short block (regular block) is usually either just the block, no internals or block and crank (or any combination inbetween)
