OK so i'm a newb at this but I have a question on tires.
I purchased a set of 2nd hand wheels that are in great shape.
I put them on myself and they are very loud. A loud hum when driving. I don't think anything is rubbing and the steering (alignment) seems to be ok. The car doesn't veer to one side.
Any ideas what is causing this? Is this normal for high performance tires?

What kind of tires are they? are they balanced correctly? do you have enough air pressure?

I have this same deal. It sounds like I've got on those fat 40 inch mudder wheels when I'm on the freeway but toned down a little bit. Tires are balanced and at the recommended PSI as well..

Sounds like its just the tred, could be a hard compound tire as well, really not much you can do about it! [:@]
