Check out some of the things you can do with you new vag toy. http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/cars/18T.html i was up all night the day i got mine playing around with it.... if you are changing certain things, to be safe write down the "default stock" setting.

This code
17965 - Charge Pressure Control: Positive Deviation
P1557 - 35-00 - -
usually means youhave a boost leak and are underboosting. The underboost is most likely why you are constantly in limp mode. Remember that the ECU will put you in limp mode if actual boost is more than 2% different than requested boost. It doesn't matter if it is above or below requeted. Inspect the hoses and do a leak test.

Change out the O2 sensor. A bad O2 sensor can causeall kinds if probelms. Buy an OEM sensor with the wiring already made up. They cost more than the universal sensors but you are less likely to have probelms.

Boost lines and vac lines are different. If you suspect a boost leak you should search on "boost leak test", and the boost hoses are usually big. I would be looking under the car at the turbo outlet hose (at the turbo), intercooler hoses/piping, throtle body boot/hose, and there are a couple L shaped hoses on top of the engine near the back by the intake manifold that are prone to leak too. Leaking vac lines wouldnt cause a positive deviation fault code. Search for boost leak test and put one together and go at it. If you suspect a vac leak then its usually best to replace all vac lines if nothing is obvious, but with a boost leak, its a lot more expensive to just replace all the boost lines and better to try and pinpoint the leak with a home made test.

But now that you have a bunch of vac line, now is a good time to replace them as preventative maint.
