Default Newb Boost Question

so i took my buddy for a ride in my car today, and he asked how much i was boosting with the chip. i said that it should hit around 20, but be consistently around 10-15lbs he then said something like, huh... weird 20lbs and thats all the power you get? then i thought about how arif is making 292.x awhp at 20lbs... obviously he has a MUCH bigger turbo, but like... so like, do bigger turbos just give the 20lbs of boost consistently and it gets there quicker, or is it something like something else.. i mean ive done some reading about turbos, how they work, etc when i got my car, but i never thought id be this lost lol

anyone?

bueller?

you can pul;l over 300 whp at 20 psi. its just where it comes on. you get ur 20 psi at 3-4k rpm. he gets it from there, till redline. horsepower is Torque*rpm/5252. above 5252 rpm, ur HP is greater than your torque. boost around that rpm range gives u ALOT more HP than lor rpm. thats y a chipped 1.8t engine has nearly 250 lbs/torque, but only liek 210 HP

Don't think of it in terms of boost pressure. Think of it as volume. Just because you can make a K03 boost 20psi doesn't mean it will provide more air than a T3/T4 at 10psi.
